Just for fun

I saw this really swirled up Grand Am and just could not resist seeing what I could do with it. About 5 minutes of polishing yielded some pretty decent results. It's not quite perfect. It needs a couple more passes or maybe a little bit of wet sanding.


Before - note that the light scatters across the many swirls in the paint, it is unable to keep a nice tight beam.

A couple passes with the polisher on the left side. Note the difference in reflection between the top and bottom. No more swirls to diffuse and break up the light, it keeps a nice concentrated spot.

Painting

I sprayed, wetsanded, and polished this fender in a makeshift paint booth. I am quite happy with the depth of the reflection.

2007 Mazda3

I had the pleasure of wetsanding and polishing out some nasty marks left behind from hitting something. I was not quite finished up yet... but it's a start. Now just to get the PDR guy to pop those dents out.

Triumph Bonneville

Here's a Triumph Bonneville that I had detailed for Father's Day last year. I love how deep and wet the paint looks. The chrome shined up nicely too.

Mercedes ML320

Unfortunately no before pictures of this one. Just a quick snap from my RAZR phone. This car had not been cleaned in a number of years. The rims were completely black from brake dust.

Toyota Camry gets a refresher

Here is a Camry that the owner wanted detailed prior to its sale. There were a few problem areas around the corners that I addressed.

Tornado Pink GTI

Here is a MKIV VW GTI. The clear coat has started de-laminating and peeling off. VW calls this Tornado Red, I think Tornado Pink is more fitting.

This was a quick fix for the owner so that it wasn't quite such an eyesore. A little bit of wetsanding around the edges would have blended it a bit more nicely, but the primary focus was on time. No sort of glaze or wax has been applied at this point.
